Gaming ’14 – “Utah Game Wars”

homepage-image2-gaming14 The 2014 Gaming “Concept to Company” Contest (Utah Game Wars) was the 22nd competition and 2nd annual one focusing on game development. It took place from July to September 2014 and was a huge success! Over 35 awesome game developers applied to the contest and of those, ten finalists were chosen.

The finalists presented their games to a panel of industry judges and the general audience on August 27th, 2014 in downtown SLC at the Utah Game Wars event. At the conclusion of the judging, three winners were announced and awards were given. The winners were also featured at a Comic Con booth the following week in Salt Lake City.

Jaxi100 Jaxi is a programming game starring Jaxi, a robot that kids can guide through challenges and obstacles using real Javascript. It’s specifically designed to teach young girls Java coding in a fun way. & Kickstarter Campaign at

dubwars100DubWars takes the love of music and combines it with the simple mechanics of top-down shooters capturing the intensity, anticipation and insanity of Dubstep.
Leaf100 Leaf is a masterfully designed vertically scrolling puzzle game. Players control their character by drawing wind currents. The wind currents are used to navigate and manipulate objects in order to solve puzzles.

IceCream100 Zombies Ate My Ice Cream is a game consisting of a weaponized ice cream truck on a road trip to see America’s oddities during a zombie apocalypse.
